In use, the iPad 2 is incredibly fast. No slowdown picture or sound, even on a game drive intense graphics. Switch from one application to another is done just as quickly. In fact the only slowdown during our ownership has been at the time of launch iMovie project by loading a pre-existing. The impression of fluidity is very impressive.
The little grating base portion of the device indicates the presence of the speaker, but noisy during our ownership has failed to really determine if it was satisfactory. The camera shoots well and truly back in HD, and HDMI cable allows you to play HD movies on an external display.
Overall we can say that Apple did not reinvent the wheel with technically iPad 2. But the company has demonstrated its porting apps, including iMovie and GarageBand, it intended to disseminate widely the tablet to an audience of computer-illiterates looking for a simple and easy to take in hand (in all sense of the term).
