The search engine has taken a further step in the implementation of research results in real time. Google announced yesterday that the content delivered in real time would now be better taken into account and receive the same treatment as others in the pages of search results

This innovation, known as Social Search, allows a better consideration of shared links on social networks, including Twitter. The search algorithm in particular include the link popularity on social networks (the number of times it has been shared) to calculate the relevance and page-rank of the source site. Google will take particular account of updates in real time on Flick'r, Twitter or Quora. However, the search has closed the door on Facebook: links shared on the platform should not be taken into account by the search algorithm.

For now, only the English site for Google, google.com is affected by these new features. In addition, in the introductory note of "Social Search", Mike Cassidy, senior product manager at Google, said the feature would be available to users who register with a Google Account. The "anonymous" users will not benefit from the recommendation on social research.
